SRTA New Bedford Bus Terminal Parking Garage Entrance / Exit Gates (2)

Background

The Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) is responsible for public transit services in ten (10) communities within the Southeastern Massachusetts region, and is funded with Federal, State, and local subsidies, as well as fare box revenue. The SRTA was created pursuant to Commonwealth of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 161B, and thus is considered a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The SRTA is required to comply with the mandates of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), as are the entities with which the Authority enters a contract with.

The resultant contract is subject to financial assistance contracts between the SRTA and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). As such, all Contractors must comply with all applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations.

This resultant contract is subject to any applicable guidelines for project administration issued by the Federal Transit Administration of the Department of Transportation of the U.S. Government and all other applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The SRTA reserves the right to reject any all proposals, or any part of any proposal that the SRTA deems it in its best interest to do so.

Scope of Work / Specifications

The SRTA is seeking written quotes from qualified vendors for the Acquisition and Installation of Parking Garage Entrance / Exit Gates (2) to be fitted at the New Bedford Bus Terminal, located at 134 Elm Street, New Bedford, MA 02740, of which is owned and operated by the Authority. Your Company is invited to submit a quote.

Important Note: This project will be subject to Prevailing Wage Rates as outlined in the Official Wage Schedule from the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards. The applicable Official Wage Schedule will be included as an attachment to the solicitation packet.

Intent to Respond

A copy of the solicitation packet – including a detailed copy of the scope of work, technical specifications, additional information, and other documentation – is available from the SRTA beginning on February 8, 2021 and may be obtained by emailing jlebert@srtabus.com.

The subject line of the email shall include SRTA New Bedford Bus Terminal Parking Garage Entrance / Exit Gates (2), while the body of the email shall include the official name of the Vendor, the name of an Authorized Representative, and the Contact Information (Phone and Email Address) for the Authorized Representative.

Note: All Estimated Dates above entail a deadline of COB or 4:00PM EST, unless otherwise noted. Any changes to the Estimated Dates will be communicated to Prospective Bidders who submit the Intent to Respond information.

The work associated with this project is expected to commence upon the Notice of Award. As indicated in the solicitation packet under Submission Criteria (Page 24), all proposals should plainly include the anticipated lead time for materials as well as the proposed timeline in which the work can be completed.

Additional Information

In compliance with the procurement guidelines set forth by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), any Vendor looking to conduct business with the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority (SRTA) or it’s appointed Operating Company — First Transit / South Coast Transit Management (SCTM) — are required to demonstrate responsiveness, responsibility, and must be registered with the System for Award Management (www.SAM.gov) and sign off on applicable Federal Clauses.
